The Rerum Novarum Human and Civil Rights Center of Chicago serves as the pro-bono arm of the Chicago criminal defense law firm of Durkin & Roberts. The Center will provide pro-bono legal representation on selected cases dealing with human rights and civil liberties, including especially federal and state court criminal matters. Rerum Novarum will not take on routine civil matters, but will attempt to refer inquiries about civil matters to other Chicago firms cooperating with Rerum Novarum. Rerum Novarum’s principle office is located in Lincoln Park at the offices of Durkin & Roberts, but will have regular intake office hours at Leo High School, 901 W. 79^th Street and the Faith Community of St. Sabina, 1210 W. 78^th Place, so as to provide high quality legal representation in the area of human and civil rights to the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.
